Thank You for Being You

By Christopher Bernard Lidstone

Defending those without a name

Without a promise of personal gain

Pouring soup one day a week

To help poor souls out on the street

-

Giving more than they can afford

To victims of a storm or sword

Always looking to lend a hand

Or an ear to understand

-

Selfless act with no reward

Never wanting to record

Heroic of acts everyday

But heroes only think that way

-

For their country, some will try

To help so far away, but die

All are heroes great and small

We recognize and love you all

Gosh, I am glad you gave me the link, Chris. It is touching and apt for the times that we live in. I wish I had seen this sooner. It deserves more comments. I raise a toast to you, my friend.

This was short but so touching I almost cried. I mean that. This was so beautiful. Thank you.
