Super Dave

By Christopher Bernard Lidstone

-

A tiny blanket, now a cape

It’s Superman you can’t escape

Protecting his Poppy and his Nan

From all the villains in the land

-

And if the cape is being cleaned

Spiderman is on the seen

Or a stick will be a sword

To make him He-man or a lord

-

When the cape comes back again

That little boy will be Batman

He knows just who can save the day

I know, I used to be that way

-

Tarzan is who I’d be

Pretending to swing from tree to tree

Or Roy Rogers was always fun

I’d save the world with my toy gun

this was too cute, made me think of my two sons playing "Make believe" as super heroes. It also brings me back to memories of playing Wonder Woman with my brother who would pretend to be Superman....good poem!
